The most widely accepted folktale is that city is the namesake of Captain Christopher Newport, commander of Susan Constant, flagship of the three ship English fleet that landed on Jamestown Island in 1607. City played a major role in the Peninsula Campaign during the Civil War. Numerous earthen fortifications and attractions that relate to the Civil War can be experienced in Newport News. In addition, the famous "Battle of the Ironclads" took place off the shores of Newport News in 1862. Among the city's major industries are shipbuilding, military, and aerospace. These are the videos that I recorded when we were taking a tour of Jamestown in Williamsburg, Virginia. This is the day before we had the Music Competition at Busch Gardens & this was the only time I could bring my camera because we went on rides & got wet & I didn't want my Flip Video Camera damaged. But enjoy this three part tour of us exploring Jamestown & little events they had there. It was so hot! But it was fun & I got alot on film. stacy’s middle gauley rafting trip 2

This is the first half of our surfing on the Middle Gauley with Class VI. It was so much fun; you paddle your duckie into the whitewater and let it toss you around, at first I was a little bit apprehensive, but it was such a good time. Definitely the best vacation I have ever taken my family on.
