For more of my photo tours, visit: historicpittsburgh.blogspot.com Wheeling, West Virginia has a wealth of pre-Civil War, Victorian, and Italianate architecture. I have tried to do justice to the beauty and elegance of this city, which has a disproportionate amount of substantial architecture for its small size. Many of the buildings photographed here date from the mid 19th century. The oldest buildings date from the 1820s-1830s.

Shirley Plantation – near Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia

Join us on a leisurely stroll around the grounds of Virginia's first plantation, established six years after our nation's first settlement at Jamestown in 1607. 11 generations of one family have lived in the "Great House" since the mansion was started in 1723.

Historic Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

Stroll with us through Colonial Williamsburg. It is the historic district of the city of Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. The district includes buildings dating from 1699 to 1780 which made colonial Virginia's capital. Williamsburg was the center of government, education and culture in the Colony of Virginia.
