Summer Fun?

Out on the boardwalk of Virginia Beach on April 11, 2011 between 11:30am and noon. The number of trucks, and other heavy equipment, competing with the beach goers at this time of day was quite high. It was actually a dismal sight. This video was taken near 25th street where a man named Michael Knockett was crushed - and killed - by a city dump truck, while out on the beach, the morning of June 28th 2010. None of the trucks, that I saw while making this video, were using ground guides at any time. But, it seems that Virginia Beach city workers are protected under Sovereign immunity while in the performance of their jobs, so, I'm very careful while out, at anytime, on this particular beach. At position 3:49, on this video, the tractor driver appears to get out of his cab and pickup some clothing that he shakes out and throws into his cab before driving away. I'd hate to be in the water and find that my clothing (wallet and keys too) had been stolen. I often wonder how many watches and wallets these tractor and truck drivers "find" during the summer months. On the Deck of Battleship Wisconsin – Norfolk, Virginia

Bring your cameras as we tour a World War II battleship docked at Norfolk, Virginia. This ship defended aircraft carriers and shelled Japanese positions before being placed in reserve at the end of the war. She also served in every major US war in the last half of the 20th century. The weather in Ocean City is warm and inviting, the ocean and white sand beaches sparkling. Boardwalk trams can take you the whole length of the boardwalk, which travels from the Inlet to the North Booth at 27th Street. Angler Party Boat Assateague Explorer - boat ride Cruise by Assateague Lighthouse and you can see bald eagles, dolphin and places wild ponies live. In 1869, businessman Isaac Coffin built the first beach-front cottage to receive paying guests. Prior to 1870, what is now Ocean City was known as "The Ladies' Resort to the Ocean." The Atlantic Hotel, the first major hotel in the town, opened July 4, 1875. The Ocean City Inlet was formed during a major hurricane in 1933, which also destroyed the train tracks across the Sinepuxent Bay. The inlet separated what is now Ocean City from Assateague Island. In 1952, with the completion of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Ocean City became easily accessible to people in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. In 2002, Ocean City undertook the most recent of many, multi-million dollar, beach restoration programs, in an attempt to slow the westward migration of its beaches. The program pumped tons of sand from offshore and deposited it onto the beach. Ocean City now extends just over 9 miles (~15 km) from the southern inlet to the Delaware line.
